High Country Seafood Co began in 2014 on the side of a mountain road with a simple idea — bring truly fresh seafood to the High Country.

Living in the mountains shouldn’t mean settling for frozen seafood. We believed our community deserved the same fresh fish, shrimp, oysters, and coastal flavors you’d find along the Carolina coast.

What started as a small roadside operation quickly grew thanks to the support of our community. Just two years later, we opened our first fresh seafood retail market and take-out kitchen, allowing us to serve even more seafood lovers across the High Country.

Today, High Country Seafood Co proudly sources premium seafood from along the Carolina coastline and brings it straight to North Wilkesboro. From fresh fish and sweet Carolina shrimp to oysters, lobster, and house-prepared seafood favorites, everything we offer is selected with quality and freshness in mind.

This business is truly a family passion. You may even see my young sons helping around the market from time to time — cutting fish, weighing shrimp, or greeting customers. We believe great food brings people together, and we’re proud to share that experience with our community.
